WorkCover, CTP & Insurance Psychology Services

Tele-Psych provides psychology services for clients funded through:

  • SIRA NSW

  • WorkCover Queensland

  • WorkSafe Victoria

  • ReturnToWorkSA

  • WorkCover Tasmania

  • as well as workers compensation, CTP and relevant insurance authorities across all other Australian states and territories.

You may be eligible for insurer-funded psychology sessions if you have:

  • A work-related physical injury, psychological injury, illness or condition arising from your employment or a workplace incident, or injuries related to a motor vehicle accident covered under CTP or other relevant insurance.

  • An active and accepted claim with the relevant insurer or state workers compensation authority.

  • Approval for psychological treatment under your claim, where required.

  • A referral or treatment request from your GP, insurer, rehabilitation provider or case manager, depending on the requirements of your claim.

  • Telehealth psychology may be available under your claim where approved by the relevant insurer or authority.

How It Works

01

Start the claim process

Contact your WorkCover or car insurer to notify them of the  incident so the claim process can begin. They will guide you through the claim application process.

03

Approval Confirmation from Insurer

Your insurer must confirm approval before therapy can begin. Our friendly team will contact your claims manager to obtain verbal or written consent to proceed with therapy sessions.

05

Attend & recover

Your psychologist will deliver evidence-based therapy focused on psychological recovery, workplace adjustment, and return-to-work support.

02

Book a GP Appointment

To strengthen your claim, book an appointment with your GP and request a WorkCover or CTP referral for psychology therapy services. Once completed, submit the referral to your WorkCover or car insurer.

04

Book your session

Once your insurer has approved the sessions, our team will contact you to book an appointment time that suits you.

06

Ongoing collaboration

We liaise with your case manager, insurer or employer (if required), and other allied health professionals, while maintaining clinical confidentiality and patient-centred care.

Important Conditions & Notes

  • Coverage and eligibility depend on your insurer’s approval and the details of your claim.

  • WorkCover, CTP, or other insurance-funded sessions must be pre-approved; these cannot be self-referred.

  • If the insurer declines or refuses to fund psychological services, you may choose to switch to private pay, self-refer, or obtain a Mental Health Care Plan to access Medicare rebate sessions.

  • Cancellation and no-show fees still apply and are not covered by your policy. If you cancel late or do not attend an approved session, the fee is payable by you, not your insurer.
